STOP THE GE CROPS PETITION RAP*

Intro: Hi my name is _____________, I’m with Pesticide Action Network.
We’re talking to people today about the new genetically engineered crops the big pesticide corporations are trying to push through the USDA.

Problem: The crops are engineered for use with hazardous and outdated herbicides like 2,4-D, which is an active ingredient in Agent Orange.

These dangerous sprays also drift onto other fields very easily. This means that any farmers growing fruits, vegetables, or other crops could have their farms destroyed by any neighbors who start to use them.

Solution: We are calling on the Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack to reject these new GE crops in order to protect farmers and the health of rural communities.

Urgency: Vilsack is looking to make this decision any day now, so we really need to speak up now against these risky crops
